What is the ROI of AI automation in a company?

How do you calculate ROI on an AI agent?
Start from the workflow, not from the model. Count items processed per month, minutes a person spends on each item, and the fully loaded cost of that hour (salary, benefits, supervision, tools). Gross monthly savings equal volume × minutes/60 × hourly cost × the share of the work the agent can take. Net savings subtract the monthly operation line. Payback is the build cost divided by net monthly savings.
